Andrew Witney is the CIO for Barclays Corporate & CIO EMEA CIBWM based in London.
Andrew joined Barclays Corporate Technology in 2010 from Barclays Capital, where he spent the previous six years working in a range of senior roles in Infrastructure, including Head of Technology for FX, Money Markets, Emerging Markets and Banking Operations and most recently as Chief Operating Officer for Banking Operations and Technology and Chief Information Officer EMEA.
Andrew joined Barclays Capital in 2004 from UBS where he was European CIO for Wealth responsible for the development of an internet banking platform for UBS Warburg and a European platform for UBS Wealth Management. Prior to that, he was at Swiss Bank Corporation inBasel.
Andrew graduated from Exeter University with a degree in Maths.
As well as recently being appointed as a Trustee for Cancerkin, Andrew is the Barclays Accountable Executive at the Business Taskforce for Accessible Technology and works closely with the Employers Forum for Disability. He is also an active Pilotlighter and has recently joined the team at Islington Carers Centre. ICC was established in 1992 and provides a unique generic service to all carers across all disabilities within Islington.
