2005
The third Cancerkin Hyde Park Walk took place on 12th June 2005. Over 160 walkers rejoiced in the few hours sunshine experienced that day and made a big impact in the park, showing off their Cancerkin T shirts. The walk raised £52,000 and Cancerkin is very grateful to all who helped make this such a successful day. This included Felicity Finch, who plays Ruth Archer, and opened the walk for us, the walkers and their sponsors, the marshals who helped on the day and Waitrose who kindly donated the water for the walk.
We are looking forward to the next walk which will be held in 2007.
In July 2005, Caroline Macdonald very kindly opened her house for a weekend as a venue to host a jewellery sale organised by Beryl Morris. If you would like to hold a sparkling entertainment for your friends selling this unusual and beautiful jewellery on behalf of Cancerkin, please get in touch.
In October, Cancerkin held a Musical Soiree at the home of Cancerkin patron, Henry Gross. The performers Dr Brian Youl, (piano), Dr James Dooley (tenor), (pictured) Francis Shelton (cello) and Suzie Meszaroz (viola) delighted the audience and a very enjoyable evening was had by all.
In December Mr Tim Davidson, Breast Cancer Surgeon at the Royal Free Hospital, (pictured with Jo Partridge, Development Manager),pulled out the winning tickets for 2005 Luxury Prize Draw. Thank you to everyone who took part and to the people and businesses who kindly donated prizes.
