Cancerkin’s 20th Anniversary
Hyde Park Sponsored Walk

Sunday 10th June 2007

The ex-Chelsea and England football player and former TV pundit
Graeme Le Saux, cut the starting ribbon at the fourth Cancerkin Hyde Park Walk, where he was joined by more than 200 Cancerkin supporters on Sunday 10th June.

Luckily it was a gloriously sunny day and everyone was in high spirits as they set off on their 10km walk, twice around the Serpentine. Many of the walkers sported tags on their way round the course with the names of loved ones affected by breast cancer.

First at the finish line was Fred Barber who decided to run the course and did a third lap of the Serpentine for good measure. Last at the line were the three indomitable ladies who took 3.5 hours to complete the entire circuit on space hoppers.

To date, in the region of £43,000 has been raised with some walkers still to bring in their sponsorship.

Cancerkin is most grateful to Ocean Spray for donating cranberry juice and cranberries, to Waitrose, Finchley Road for water and bananas.

OTHER TESTIMONIALS
“When you came to see me nearly a year ago, I was very receptive to your offers of help. But I could have no idea how much Cancerkin would do for me over this difficult year.”
