Exercise Classes

CanEx_2Lizzy Davis, a Personal Trainer, Certified Cancer Exercise Specialist and former Oncology/Palliative Care Nurse, runs a weekly CanExercise class at Cancerkin.

CanExercise is simply Cancer Rehabilitation through exercise! Regular, moderate intensity activity both during and after cancer treatment, will help to preserve muscle tone, joint motion and aerobic stamina. It can also help to combat many of the treatment-related side effects, increase energy, boost mood and self-confidence, and generally lend to a better quality of life; the benefits are endless!

Lizzy develops safe and effective cancer exercise classes that can be tailored to suit everyone’s needs and limitations at the time, so everyone is welcome.  The focus is on healing and empowerment. Movements and exercises are incorporated to regain and maintain range of motion, restore physical and emotional balance, reduce your risk of developing lymphoedema, or to help control existing lymphoedema, and generally raise your energy levels whilst having fun!

The CanExercise class will help you to achieve, or return to, levels of physical activity perhaps never conceived of.  Regain your strength, vitality and quality of life!

Suitable for people of all ages
Please complete Participant Information Sheet prior to class to ensure you are eligible to take part
Please wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing and a well cushioned pair of shoes
You must be 12 weeks post surgery.
