Pilates

Pilates is an exercise method, designed to elongate, strengthen and restore the body to balance. It uses controlled movement and breathing to tone the body and the mind. Pilates is considered to be beneficial for general fitness, specific health conditions and most of all for your overall well-being. The simple exercises are great for people of all ages and abilities, being considered by many to be one of the safest forms of exercise today.

Kara Dressel

Kara Dressel has been teaching Pilates since 2002. She trained with Anne-Marie Zulkahari in London and was certified by the Pilates Foundation to teach mat and equipment Pilates. Kara currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Pilates Foundation. Kara specialises in working with clients who are recovering from various surgeries and illness. She sees how Pilates can be very helpful in the recovery process.  Kara trained to teach women recovering from breast cancer with the Pink Ribbon Program in New York.  She started teaching mat class at Cancerkin in 2007. Kara enjoys working with the women at Cancerkin and learning from them.  She uses her experience at Cancerkin to present workshops to other Pilates teachers.


Cancerkin’s complementary caring services are available to patients with breast cancer, free of charge for a series of sessions, regardless of where they have been treated.
